Utah's Leef is in the business of solving problems.
Jonny Anderson, Leef Director of Product Design, "We design products people want to own. That's why we are doing this."
For the guys of Leef, it is pretty simple: they think of something that needs to be made, and they make it.
Leef started back in 2010 and has grown into a dominate player in the USB flash memory industry. Making a nice assortment of cool USB Flash Drives and now their new product the Bridge.
Anderson explained with the Bridge you can, "Plug your USB drive into your android phone and use it just like you would on your computer."
Leef comes up with new ideas all the time and they are able to bring them to market fast. The key to that is this office on State Street in downtown Salt Lake City.
Leef Creative Director Dave Smurthwaite said, "The ability to design and prototype in house allowed us to move faster to market."
Leef's 3D printer makes it possible for the designers to think big and try it out immediately. They get to see what doesn't work and what does.
Smurthwaite said, "When we come to the actual production of a product, our goal is 90 days. That's what we are trying to do."
For Leef, being in Utah has made their process of design and creating easier.
Anderson said, "We knew that if we start the design company here, and have it in Salt Lake City the talent in pool in Utah was great and already here ready to get to work.
Right now Leef's Bridge is for Android phones only, but they are working on their iPhone version of the product right now. They say to stay tuned.
