At 4:50 a.m., police responded to the house on Glendale Drive on a report of shots being fired, said Lt. Scott White, Salt Lake City Police Dept.
White said shortly after police responded to the scene, dispatch informed officers a 20-year-old male had arrived at Intermountain Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his chest area.
The victim was pronounced dead after he arrived at the hospital, White said.
He says it is unclear what took place at the party, but he suspects the victim was shot, thrown into a vehicle, and driven to IMC.
Police are not not releasing the victim's name until next of kin is notified.
This is the second party shooting to occur in the Salt Lake area this weekend.
