SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) - With pompoms at the ready, Lily Smith is joining the Eisenhower Junior High Cheerleading squad for her 9th Grade year. Lily and her mother, Suzie, were guests Friday afternoon on ABC 4 Utah at 4:00 p.m.

Lily earned her spot, despite what some might consider her disability. Lily has Downs Syndrome.

Despite that, She tried out will all the other girls and was put through the paces just like all the other girls.

Now that school is out, she's focused on cheer camp and getting ready for the fall semester.

We wish her well and look forward to seeing her cheer on her school teams!
