9-year-old to be awarded Young Philanthropist of the Year

Salt Lake City, UT (ABC4 News) - On Thursday, Catholic Community Services of Utah (CCS) will host the annual Dream Builder’s Breakfast; honoring those in our community who are making a difference.
Salt Lake City, UT (ABC4 News) - On Thursday, Catholic Community Services of Utah (CCS) will host the annual Dream Builder’s Breakfast; honoring those in our community who are making a difference.

Among those being honored is 9-year-old Armani McFarland who has organized numerous donations drives to help those most in need, including collecting 150 backpacks and a whole truck-load of supplies to help every child start the school year off right. She continues her service today by reading to children at the local homeless shelter after school.

Other honorees being recognized at the Breakfast are Charles Trentelman formerly with the Standard-Examiner, Mel Gardner and Tim Hjorten from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Weber State University, and last, but not least, the Sisters of Saint Benedict.

The Sisters of Saint Benedict have been enriching and nurturing the lives’ of Northern Utahns for over 65 years.
