Buttermilk Syrup with Cinnamon Bread French Toast
Buttermilk Syrup
1 C. sugar
½ tsp. baking soda
½ C. buttermilk
¼ C. butter
1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
In small saucepan over high heat, combine sugar, baking
soda, buttermilk, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil. Cook 5 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Set aside until
cake is baked.
* The cinnamon french toast is so simple (just the regular way to make french toast) that she'll just demo how to put the entire dish together with the buttermilk syrup.
