Marines Join Us for Independence Day

Three U.S. Marines talk about patriotism and service on this Independence Day.
Gunnery Sergeant Maxim Ostromogilsky, Gunnery Sergeant William Bradley and Sergeant Jason Raths talk about patriotism and service on this Independence Day.

The Marines learn the importance of serving their country.  Though their missions have changed over the years, one thing has remained constant since November 10, 1775.  The Marines unyielding commitment to protecting the lives of our citizens and the interests of our nation.

Their purpose, by congressional mandate, is to be this nation's rapid response force; they are called to be "most ready when the nation is least ready."

From humanitarian relief efforts to combat operations; from air, land and sea to every place, the Marine Corps is ready to answer our nation's call.

The Marines are partners with ABC 4 Utah with the Toys for Tots campaign which provides toys for children in Utah.

To help support that cause there is a Toys for Tots Golf Tournament on July 12th at Bonneville Golf Course in Salt Lake City.  It is a best-ball scramble style play.  Registration is at 7 a.m. and there is a shotgun shot at 8 a.m.  The cost is $85 for a single player, $325 for a foursome.
