SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) – Prosecutors have charged three young people as internet pimps.
The youngest was only 19 years old. Their horde of prostitutes included 16 and 17 year old females.
Police say the deals were made on a website found at Salt Lake City backpages.
Prosecutors say the website is replacing State Street where hookers once roamed.

“Now the game has changed to use social media and the use of the internet,” says Sim Gill, Salt Lake District Attorney.

Salt Lake City city police arrested three young alleged pimps: 19-year old Abiodu Salankole, 21-year old Onna Faitha and 21-year old Almaze Ebet.
Charging documents state the trio were using backpages website to offer sex for clients.
Police say the trio rented hotel rooms in Salt Lake City and made thousands of dollars offering these young teens for sale.
The age of these young prostitutes doesn't surprise prosecutors.

“Unfortunately that is something that has remained the same,” says Gill. “It's just the avenue for which they are being pimped has fundamentally been changed.
