MIDVALE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Police are still looking for clues after a man is hospitalized after being shot. The shooting happened at the Apple Honey apartments Monday morning.

“Several neighbors that just heard shots being fired. So our officers were responding up here on shots fired in the area. Once they got up here and began to investigate they found that a white Cadillac had its windows broken out,” said Lt. Justin Hoyal with the Unified Police Department.

When police took a deeper look at the Cadillac, they found blood.

“In the process of looking at that car, they saw that there was blood on the ground and followed that trail back to a particular apartment where they had found the victim who had been shot,” Hoyal added.

It was an 18-year-old man that was shot. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

“I can't disclose where the individual was shot but it was in his lower extremities,” says Lt. Hoyal.

Police are taking every precaution with this case, not knowing why the person was shot.

“We have very limited suspect information. There was a white Toyota Camry that was involved in this shooting,” said Lt. Hoyal.

Detectives have been processing the scene all morning long. It is unclear if the Cadillac’s windows were busted out from the gunshot or if it happened prior.

If you have any information on this shooting that happened near the Apple Honey apartments, you are asked to call the Unified Police Department.
