Search and rescues in Davis County

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – Authorities were called out to several search and rescues in Adam’s Canyon Saturday evening.

Authorities said a teenage boy was with a group of friends hiking in Adam’s Canyon when the reached a waterfall. The boy got separated from his group and fell approximately 80 feet. He was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition.

Davis County Search and Rescue and the Layton Fire Department also responded the call.

A 21-year-old man believed to be involved in the search for the injured teen lost track of his group. After his whereabouts were unknown, he came down the mountain without any injuries.

In an unrelated incident, a 50-year-old hiker went missing shortly after the teenager was airlifted off the mountain.

Authorities said the man was with a group of hikers north of the waterfall. He was last seen at a split in the trail halfway up the mountain.

Crews were able to locate him and get him safely off the mountain.  He had no injuries.
