ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The families and friends of four men killed in a plane crash are searching for answers.

Tanner Holt, 23, was a trained pilot. He boarded the plane with Colby Hafen, 28, Christopher Jordan Chapman, 20, and Alexander Metzger, 23.

National Transportation Safety Board Investigator Zoe Keliher said security footage was found at the wreckage site. It shows the plane flying low, rapidly ascending, then rapidly descending, resulting in the crash. She said investigators are looking into mechanical failures or any other malfunctions that caused the plane to go down.

The accident happened early Saturday morning about 300 feet from the St. George Airport runway.

Danny Lafontaine, a friend of Alex Metzger, said he is devastated by the deaths. He inked a tattoo on his arm in honor of Metzger. The tattoo shows stereo speakers with a banner draped across them. The banner has Metzger's name and dates of his birth and death.

"He was such a good guy with a bright future," Lafontaine said. "He didn't deserve that."

Family members for each of the men hope to find answers surrounding the crash and closure to their deaths.
