TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Two alleged robbers in Taylorsville tried one too many times to steal from the same business. Police said they tried to rob the same place two days in a row, and sure enough the second time they got caught.

When Jim Carey and Téa Leoni started robbing places like smoke shops in the movie "Fun with Dick and Jane" it took them a few tries to get the hang of it.  Apparently two teenagers who tried to robbed a smoke shop Wednesday in Taylorsville had a similar mentality.

"Suspects had actually done a robbery at this business just yesterday, at about the exact same time," said Lt. Justin Hoyal, Unified Police Dept.

Unified Police said 19 year old Anai Ajack and another 17 year old kid tried to rob the same Lucky Smoke shop two days in a row. On Tuesday they held up the clerk with a gun and got away with some cash, but Wednesday when they came back to 4100 South and Redwood Road for a second time, they weren't as lucky.

"She recognized the suspects from yesterday's robbery and locked the doors so the suspects couldn't get in and called police," said Hoyal.

Ajack and the other teenager tried to run away, but police caught one at a nearby business and they found the other at an apartment building down the street.

Unlike Dick and Jane, the robbery didn't pay off. Right now Ajack is sitting in the Salt Lake County Jail. The other teenager is in juvenile detention.
